Job Description:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

o Serves as project manager for specific client projects and activities; works with client Technology Services Division (TSD) Management on priorities and timeframes of projects; plans work and schedule for projects; coordinates interaction between interrelated project teams; reviews and assesses progress of client projects and activities and takes corrective action where necessary

o Ensures that client projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements

o Is required to follow client methodology, the Project Management Approach For The Systems Development Lifecycle

o Assists Agency management and project stakeholders in information technology planning related to the client program

o Clarifies expectations and defines requirements. Directs the work activities and priorities of team leaders, architects, consultants, analysts, and technicians engaged in design, procurement, testing, and implementation of client projects and activities. Responsible for providing feedback to client management on staff selection, assignment, training, development, and performance related to client.

o Coordinates with agency management and resources responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of client components post-implementation as needed for knowledge transfer and for coordination with new client implementation.

o Estimates, tracks and reports on costs, including potential hard dollar, and internal client personnel and contractor hours and resulting earned value. Reports regularly to Management and Sponsor as to project status, including project accomplishments, issues, risks, and financials. Serves as project advisor to client Management, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committee.

o Documents expected benefits, such as reduction in cycle time, personnel savings, and any hard dollar savings for any enhancement requests other than ones mandated by legislation.

o Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.


o Leadership skills

o Working knowledge of the PMI project management lifecycle

o Working knowledge of the change management lifecycle

o At least 3 years' experience in network protocols, security, operating systems, and/or infrastructure

o Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the needs of technical peers, technical and user management, business users, vendors, and staff members

o Excellent verbal and written communications to include grammar, composition, punctuation, writing, editing and proofreading skills

o Experience with meeting facilitation

o Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for policies, procedures, and best practices

o Experience with requirements / environments for PCI, PUB1075, and/or NIST.


o A Bachelor''s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and four (4) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or an Associate''s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and six (6) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or a High School diploma and eight (8) years of experience in information technology systems or related area

o PMP certification verifiable via


o 1, 2, possibly 3 interviews via phone and/or video. Local candidates may be in-person


o Current industry certifications for Microsoft products and/or information security practices

o Knowledge of Microsoft products- Windows Server 2016, SharePoint 2016, Project 2016, SCCM 2012, Windows 2016, Office 2016

o BA, QA certifications & experience

o Internet standards, including TCP/IP, and DNS, DHCP

o Server operating systems installation and configuration

o Internet security

o Virtual Private Networking (VPN),

o TCP/IP, Local Area Networks (LAN)

o Wide Area Networks (WAN)

o Easily adapts to changing priorities

o Knowledge of information technology best practices, organization and operations

o Ability to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as required

o Experience as a project manager

o in government IT projects


o Ability to analyze and document, business and system processes using various methods and tools. No 1

o Ability to deal effectively with the needs of technical peers, technical and user management, users, vendors, and staff members, and to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written form No 1
